Adoption – The story isn’t over

I never did write that adoption “wrap up” post that I promised. I was going to tie it all together for you in a nice little bow, hit publish, and close that chapter of our story.

Our plans never do go quite as expected, do they?

Today, I will be meeting the sweet girl who is Riley’s biological mother. I will get to tell her face to face that I think she is brave and beautiful. I will get to tell her face to face that we will miss Wendy so much and that we will always keep her memory alive. We will share pictures and stories with Riley and help him to remember her love.

Today, I will step out of my comfort zone one more time. Would you pray for me? Would you pray that it is not my words that come out, but His love.

My heart is feeling the stretch marks of growing again. I feel like an inadequate vase for the beautiful arrangement that He has ordered.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 – He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
