Michael Seipp Steps Down as Executive Director of The Baltimore Station

For the last eight years, Michael Seipp has helped homeless men, mostly veterans, overcome their addictions to drugs and alcohol. As Executive Director of The Baltimore Station since 2007, Seipp has been behind the significant growth of the organization, tripling its revenue from $1 million to $3.2 million, more than doubling its number of employees from 18 to 46, increasing the number of available beds from 60 to 136, and more than doubling its volunteer core from 650 to 1,500.

Now, after eight years of working tirelessly to help grow The Baltimore Station so that it better serves the community and the men in the program, Seipp has announced that he will be stepping down from his position. Jack Bovaird of Bovaird and Associates, a consulting company that specializes in assisting non-profits in strategic planning and transitions, has been tapped to serve as The Baltimore Station’s Interim Executive Director as well as to lead a national search for a new Executive Director.

“Michael’s vision and leadership was what set the The Baltimore Station on a focused and strategic path, allowing the organization to achieve its mission of turning lives around,” said Patrick Connor, President of the Board of Directors. “His guidance helped The Baltimore Station become the go-to resource for homeless men recovering from addiction.”

Seipp will remain involved in the non-profit community, serving as a consultant to The Baltimore Station while seeking opportunities to share his knowledge and experience with other organizations in need. His previous experience as Executive Director of Greater Baltimore AHC and the Historic East Baltimore Community Action Coalition provide him with expertise to help non-profit organizations realign their missions and grow their community outreach.

“It has been a great pleasure working with The Baltimore Station and to be a part of an organization that will continue to grow and serve those who spent their lives valiantly serving others and need help,” said Seipp. “I have confidence in Jack and his team and their capacity to continue the growth of the organization.”

Bovaird has been intimately involved with The Baltimore Station, having previously led its fundraising retreat, served as a sponsor for the 25th anniversary celebration and facilitated the organization’s strategic planning.
