The Academy Awards are this Sunday and I have to say, I am much more excited for the Red Carpet than the actual ceremony. Like my Golden Globes post last month and Oscar recap a year-ago I will feature all of my favorite looks on Monday morning. In anticipation of this night of glamour I have teamed up with Q-Tips to create a red-carpet worthy makeup look.
If I was lucky enough to attend The Oscars this is most likely the look I would gravitate towards. I would pick something bold, but not too heavy and use a variety of products and tools, including Q-tips Precision Tips to create this look as they are gentle and soft to use on delicate areas of the face, including around the eyes.
To start, I primed with my usual BB cream, applied blush, and filled in my brows. The first step, to creating this look red carpet look is a metallic eye. I used a variety of shades from this palette along with two black eyeliners, this award-winning gel and a pencil.
I am absolutely obsessed with this mascara so I decided to skip out on the false lashes but these Q-tips Precision Tips are great to apply eyelash glue to false lashes with the tip of a clean cotton swab. This time I used the tool to clean up and define the flick of my cat-eye dipped in a bit moisturizer.
The second step, a bold, statement lip. I primed my lips, lined them with a similar shaded of red, applied the vibrant color, and then used one of my Q-tips Precision Tips to perfect the edges. Ideally I would wear a metallic shimmery gown and this would be a great pop with a neutral eye. As a deep color tends to spread I would also put a few in my purse to take with me to the award show as they are light, portable, and disposable!
And with a bold red lip and a metallic eye my red carpet makeup is complete. If I was in fact attending the Oscars this weekend I would definitely splurge on a blowout and wear big loose bouncy curls if they worked well with the dress. I hope you like this look and for more great ideas you can check out Q-tips’ Pinterest boards here and fun fact, the Q in Q-tips stands for quality!
