Today is Derek’s birthday! Since Brielle’s been in the picture I no longer make the birthday cards for him and she’s in charge! We grabbed our favorite Crayola Fingerpaints

, smock and set her up in her art spot (her high chair) and we made him an extra special card!

First I used ScotchBlue Painter’s Tape

and created a little stacked birthday cake.

Then I let her go to town! She’s really into me dripping paint on the paper and then spreading around the drop so that’s the technique we went for.

After a little playtime, she thoroughly covered the sheet which we then let dry.

We peeled the tape, added some alphabet stickers and glued on pom poms as candles and we were done. Here is Brielle admiring and inspecting our work! She especially loved the pom pom touch!

Happy Birthday Derek!
