Advice From a Friend, a Winning Combination and Those Sweet Nighttime Moments

Today was madness. It started out with an early morning workout though and it was actually a really great feeling to just want to get up early to get a workout in before the day started. I didn’t have a time goal or feel like I had to run intervals, etc., but I knew that I could get my bootie on the elliptical for a bit to sweat it out while watching a couple episodes of How I Met Your Mother. (Yes, it’s on some random channel at 5:00 am.)

My cross training/core work for the day was about 25 minutes of practicing my KettleWorx class after I got off the elliptical.

I had to share what my friend I tried to keep up with pretty much the entire San Francisco Marathon 2014. She wrote this the other day on my post and I just love the message and her attitude. Not to mention the girl has some serious speed.

I’m so proud of her and she hit the nail on the head with just putting yourself out there and making yourself vulnerable with training. I have yet to do that and to be honest with the current situation and onset of hip dysplasia once again I’m not sure that’s what the future hold for me with the next few months, but when I do get things figured out I’m coming back and reading this like 5000 times.

The other day I wanted to make myself a bowl of some serious goodness and I did just that by combining these four things.

The bowl got messy, but trust me it was amazing. Salted caramel Arctic Zero might just be my favorite yet, you can never go wrong with chocolate Love Grown Foods Power O’s, NuttZo Powerfuel makes anything better and those Vega cocoa kissed saviseeds are to die for. They just need to make the bag a little bit bigger. Ha.

Since it was such a long day with work, traffic, a doctor’s appointment (yes, for the leg) and then finally getting home to these two, they got all my attention and were clearly very excited about it.

Our random dessert tonight by request of Joaquin was rice cakes with SunButter and honey.

I know, he’s a smart guy. Actually, I was thrilled that he asked for this rather than what he usually asks for for dessert. Ha.

We even got a little after dinner show.

Yep, the return of scary man.

We read one of our favorites tonight.

We also made sure to get extra cuddles in.

Holy smokes some days are so freaking long, but those cuddles and few quiet moments are just simply THE BEST.

Hope you had a great hump day!
