A Common Blogger Practice, What do you think of it?

Shorts: old jeans, Top: Thrifted, bracelets: street market, Shoes: Forever21 (Similar here)
One of those days that felt like being in a very 'casual' (if you can call it that) outfit. Since my 'super heels' are totally comfortable decided they would go well with the look..... uuhhm Lets pretend they look perfect :) Muscle tees are a big thing and I have a collection of them some thrifted, some bought. If you, like me, like muscle tees with cute prints (see the 'Vitamin Water Princess'?) check out this one with the coolest (or sweetest) print ever or this super boho one.
Now to the subject: I get a lot of "follow me and I will Follow you back" comments. I go visit the blogs and if I honestly like it, I follow it, otherwise I just leave, Maybe, loosing a potential 'followers'. This Blogger dynamics got me to think that if I am following someone just to get a follow back .... What good is that for my blog and the growth and development of it?? I think none! NO! it doesn't bother me, but after reading some articles it got me to think: what kind of 'followers' do we, bloggers, need? I think the perfect ones are those genuine followers that like the blog and the author behind it. Am I missing something here? I feel like I am because there is an enormous "crave" for followers even if they never come back :( . I heard from a blogger with thousands of followers, how hard it is to get people to visit her again so that scenario summarizes my point. I DO appreciate comments WITH LINKS a lot, this is a community and leaving a link makes it easier for us to connect, plus I have found my favorite blogs through comments they leave me with their link on it but the "follow me and I will Follow you back"??.... while I respect those who do it, I don't see the purpose of it.... PLEASE EXPLAIN ME! I would LOVE to hear your comments on this particular subject, so tell me what you think about this blogger's dynamic??
Have a happy weekend and thanks for visiting me :) XO
