Burlap Heart Banner

A sweet teenager I know has been going through a sucky 10 months, to put it frankly. This past month has been particularly hard. When a friend is going through something that I literally can do nothing to help, except pray and be a good friend, I make things. I made a felt heart garland for a friend who's baby was given very little chance of survival (that's a whole other story because that baby was healed!) and I made this burlap heart banner for this sweet teenager.

This was easy to make. I just cut some burlap into a shape I wanted. I attached some heat and bond to the white polka dot fabric and used my silhouette to cut heart shapes out. You do not need a silhouette to do this project though. Just find a heart shape online and use it as a template to cut your fabric. I ironed the hearts to the burlap and then zig zag stitched all around it. I then ran some twine through the burlap and sewed it down. Really easy.

Is there anything you do or make for friends who are going through difficult situations? I'd love to hear!
