About real style icons…

Happy sunday everybody. Has it also been super cold at your place during the past week? To judge from the four layers in which I’m wrapped in this outfit, it has obviously been frosty in Switzerland lately. By the way, I have been really surprised about the outfit choices of the visitors at the Fashion Week in New York. Naked legs. Thin jackets. Open shoes. Is that fashionable? Is it fashionable to dress like its summery 25 degrees when it’s actually winter and temperatures around or under zero degrees? I’m not that sure. I mean, shouldn’t people with a fashion taste be able to dress up according to the weather conditions and still stand out the Fashion Week mass?

To put my opinion in a nutshell: Yes! Yes they should! Thanks god, one can still find them, the true style icons who always look fabulous. No matter whether its 30 or -10 degrees outside. And no, regarding the latter, they don’t got for a mini dress without tights but instead open pumps – they rather go for thick, smartly belted coats, warm ponchos over the thin leather jacket, hot over the knee boots or at least booties and here and there even a casual bobble cap. Guten Sonntagmorgen. Ist’s bei euch die letzte Woche auch so arg kalt gewesen? Nach den den vier Lagen zu urteilen, in die ich mich bei diesem Outfit gehüllt habe, war es bei uns offensichtlich wirklich eisig kalt. Gestaunt habe ich die vergangenen Tage übrigens nicht schlecht über die Besucherinnen der Fashion Week in New York – nackte Beine, dünne Jäckchen, offene Schuhe. Ist das modisch? Ist es modisch sich im Winter Temperaturen um und unter dem Gefrierpunkt wie bei sommerlichen 25 Grad zu kleiden? Ich weiss nicht recht. Sollten Leute mit wirklichem Modegefühl nicht fähig sein, sich dem Wetter und den Temperaturen entsprechend zu kleiden und trotzdem noch aus Fashion Week Masse herausstechen?

Meine Meinung, kurz und bündig: Ja! Ja, das sollte sie! Gott sei Dank gibt es sie auch, die wahren Stilikonen, die immer top aussehen. Egal ob bei über 30 oder bei -10 Grad. Und nein, sie tragen bei Letzterem keine kurzen Kleidchen ohne Strümpfe, dafür mit offenen Pumps – sie tragen einen dicken, cool gegürteten Mantel, warme Ponchos über die dünne Lederjacke, heisse Overknees oder zumindest Stiefeletten, und hie und da sogar eine lässige Bommelmütze.
