Recipe Rave Review: Pumpkin Spice Rice Krispie Treats

If we haven't made it abundantly clear that we love all things Pumpkin Spice, then we only hope this recipe seals the deal. My Magical Aunt B has been kind enough to make all sorts of delicious dipped Rice Krispie treats for me and it is as if each one is better than the last. When her latest treat included pumpkin spice baking chocolate, I nearly died. I knew I had to whip up this easy, classic go-to recipe and quick!

Of course all you need for this recipe is...
  • 3 tbs butter or margarine
  • 5-1/2 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
  • 6 cups of marshmallows
  • 2 cups pumpkin spice flavored chocolate
Per my MAB's suggestion, I located the Wilton Brand candy melts in Pumpkin Spice, found at Wal-Mart. Trust, they are amazing.

Since the treats take only minutes, I was pleased I didn't need to set aside a ton of time. I grabbed my butter and in a large bowl, microwaved it for 45 seconds until it was melted.

Then I tossed my marshmallows with the butter and stirred it up coating each mallow. Once mixed, I put the bowl back in the microwave and heated for 45 seconds, stirred, then heated an additional 45 seconds until the marshmallows were all melted.

With the marshmallow mix nice and creamy, in went the Rice Krispies. I stirred and stirred making sure it was well mixed.

Once each little Krispie was covered, I grabbed my greased 9x13 Pyrex, dumped and pressed nice and tight. I set it aside to cool while I started to prep my dipping station.

I laid down some wax paper for a work space, cut my fresh Krispies into squares and grabbed my chocolate.

I tossed the pumpkin spice amazing-ness into the microwave for 30 seconds, took out and stirred. Once mixed, I put it in for another 30 seconds and stirred again.

When melted evenly it was time to get dippin!

I stuck a fork in a Krispie and dipped half into the chocolate. I made sure to get it on the front, back and all sides as I wanted it to be perfect. Once coated, I set on the wax paper and waited for the chocolate to cool.

I continued to dip and was so excited when I finally was done so I could lick the bowl. I am not usually a fan of flavored chocolate but WHOA, this Wilton Brand is SPOT ON! As soon as that chocolate was hard (ok, I'm lying, I didn't wait) I tried them...just as good as my MAB's version...whew!

I look forward to sharing these with friends and family this Thanksgiving season as they are beyond easy to make and such a perfect pumpkin spice addition to any gathering!

Do you have any fun ways to sass up a Rice Krispie treat?
