Adding Easy Pops of Color to Your Home
I am such a safe person, and I always seem to gravitate toward neutral colors in my decorating. Gray, white, and khaki are easy but they can get boring fast. While It COULD be blah, it doesn't have to be. Starting with a neutral pallate gives you the chance to choose fun and exciting accents that can add a unique feel while still being easy and versatile. These often inexpensive accents can be switched out with the seasons, holidays or your mood.
Pillows
Accent pillows are my favorite way to give my room a burst of energy. Choose vibrant and exciting pillows to usher in spring or warm and rich colors to get cozy in the autumn. Get fun with these inexpensive accents and bring your personality to your space.
Area Rugs
This is a new arena for me. I have started using colorful and textured Area Rugs to wake up all of the rooms in my home. Instead of getting new wall to wall carpeting, I decided to get a few accent rugs to wake up each of our bedrooms. I laid them right on top of the carpeting and it has changed the feel of each room.
Wall Decor
I have a few places in certain rooms where I switch out our Wall Decor and photos to reflect seasons and holidays. But with these amazingly thrifty options, you can also change artwork to fit your mood.Mirrors, plaques, and prints can create a personalized and welcoming feel in any room. The kids love having some freedom to choose new decorations every few months.
Accent Lamps
I always love to bring more light into any room. You can use an Accent Lamp to set a different mood or feel with the flip of a switch. It is also a great way to add whimsy, color, and fun to a room.
