My Valentine’s Mantle from Leftover Christmas Stuff

This was awesome! I get really happy when decorations can do double duty and I save energy and money and STILL get to be in the spirit of the season. How many of you actually decorate for Valentine's Day? I do not do much. A little red here and there is fun, but I keep it pretty minimal.

As I was sadly and lazily putting away my Christmas decorations I was pining over my scrap fabric garland that I had made this year. It spent the holiday season in my dining room, where I didn't get to look at it a whole lot. As I almost put it in a box for next year, it dawned on me that it would totally work as a Valentine's decoration!

It fit perfectly across my mantle in the family room where I can look at it all day every day.

But I needed something else Valentiney to pull this mantle together. One day at Target, browsing the clearance I stumbled upon this little rose topiary tree. Apparently, it was for Christmas, but really it is perfect for Valentine's day.

This bright red is so fun and energizing and the kids sure were excited to have a little Valentine's fun here at home!

What Valentine's projects have you completed this year? I always like to have easy and seasonal ideas ready in case a snow day or free time pops up!
