Back to Denmark & concrete counter top sneak peeks

Happy New Year everyone! I hope your first week of the year is off to a great start! Our last few days have been a complete whirlwind. We literally flew into the New Year (they gave out free champagne on the flight when the clock struck midnight on the east coast) and arrived just in time to start the new year back in our own home. Though it was a sad and tearful goodbye in Atlanta, I think we were all relieved to be back in our house with all of our things after traveling and moving about for six months!

We came home to a bit of a mess in our house. The landlord had a concrete counter top installed in the kitchen while we were away which look super cool (these are just some sneak peeks until I have time to style things up a bit), but everything inside the cabinets was covered in dust and the dishwasher doesn’t work (we suspect dust/concrete might be the culprit) so we spent hours and hours hand washing everything in the cabinets. We also have a new powder room on the first floor, which is awesome, but the toilet on the (American) second floor wasn’t working. The radiator in the kids’ rooms isn’t working and there are a few broken things in the house so it has been a bit of a fiasco trying to get settled in and figure out why things aren’t working and what we need to do to get everything up and going.

Despite all of that, we are in good spirits and the two big kids started back to school today. The littlest visited his classroom (he will be at the same school as the big kids this year) and he will have his first day tomorrow.

We are SO excited to jump in to a new year with you all and have so many plans for where we will be taking Flying House this year. We are dreaming bigger than ever and cannot wait to share more of our story with you and being a part of yours as well!

Happy 2015!!
