The Classic Arne Jacobsen 7 Chair Turns 60

A Danish Design Classic is turning 60 and it’s definitely turning heads at the same time. The iconic Arne Jacobsen 7 chair has become synonymous with Danish Design and this year the chair is being celebrated by the release of two limited edition colors that will only be available in 2015. Each one is signed and will no doubt become a collector’s item in years to come. What I love most about the chairs is that they are the perfect compliment to each other. One is more masculine in a blue so dark it is almost black while the pink is ultimate girly luxury with it’s gold legs and thin waistline.

The 7 Chair was one of designer and architect, Arne Jacobsen’s, greatest designs and after it’s creation in 1955, his fate was sealed as one of the greatest designers of all time.

The chairs would look beautiful around a dining room table, or, if you are better at choosing than I am, as a desk chair… Or maybe I might need to convince my husband that we need a new office space with coordinating chairs? Either way, I think bringing a piece of classic Danish Design into the home is the perfect way to bring a piece Denmark home, though I will admit that it might be harder to squeeze it into your suitcase if you are just visiting. (These chairs are available through Fritz Hansen and worldwide shipping is available.)
