Milani Moisture Matte Color Statement Lipstick for Spring 2015

Happy Friday, we made it!

Today I’ve got the new Milani Moisture Matte Color Statement Lipstick shades for spring 2015.

There are eight new matte shades which are infused with grape seed for extra hydration. They are made to be smear-proof and long-wearing, alongside being more comfortable on the lips than a traditional matte lipstick. Please ignore the two first colors in this photo and the one below. They sneaked into my package somehow and I took photos before I caught them!

Matte Innocence, Matte Naked, Matte Blissful, Matte Diva

Matte Innocence is a pale nude.

Matte Naked is a medium brown/nude.

Matte Blissful is a light blue-based pink.

Matte Diva is a bright cool-toned pink.

Matte Orchid is a bright fuchsia.

Matte Glam is a deep purple.

Matte Passion is a hot orange.

I feel these are maybe a little more hydrating than say a MAC matte lipstick, but I didn’t notice that much of a difference if I wear them for a long time. I still prefer to wear a light balm underneath because my lips are perpetually parched. If yours aren’t you might not have to do that.

They are nicely pigmented, with the exception of Matte Innocence and Matte Naked, which are light and a little more sheer. Oh and get this. These do not smell/taste like melon! They have more of a light vanilla scent, kind of like MAC lipsticks, but not as strong. YAY! I really disliked that melon thing and I know a lot of other people did as well.

These should be available this month at mass retailers and they are $4.99 each.
