DHC DEEP CLEANSING OIL

For as long as I can remember, I've always favoured cleansers which foam up. In my head, I tell myself if it foams up, it'll remove dirt and grime effectively and leave my skin deeply cleansed. I've shied away from oil cleansers after not being particularly impressed with one I tried a few years ago, but I was having a root around my stash and decided to give DHC Deep Cleansing Oil a whirl after recalling that Lipglossiping once sung its praises to me.

DHC is a Japanese brand, whose vision is deeply rooted in the beneficial properties of virgin olive oil. Olive oil is the foundation of DHC's full range of gentle skin products and its Deep Cleansing Oil is its number 1 product, with one being sold every ten seconds.

DHC Deep Cleaning Oil make-up remover completely dissolves all traces of dirt and cosmetics, whilst soothing and nourishing the skin with antioxidant-rich olive oil. Hands down, this has completely changed my opinion of oil cleansers and has totally won me over.

With dry hands, I massage it onto my face (which is dry) and work it around, loosening my make up. I then add a small amount of water and it transforms into a milky emulsion. I swirl it around some more and then remove it with a damp face cloth - my favourite being the oatmeal coloured baby ones from Boots, they're gentler on my skin than normal face flannels.

What I love about this is that it doesn't dry my skin out. I can wash my face and in the event that I get distracted by Cassius, by the time I resume my skincare routine, sometimes 20-30 mins later, my skin doesn't feel tight and instead feels moisturised from the olive oil it contains. I love that it strips my face of all my makeup - even waterproof liner and mascara, it's that good.

When my bottle runs out, I'll certainly repurchase this. It's brilliant, and well worth the money!
