Winter Colors

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed (and I’ll be the first to admit) that I’m guilty of wearing a lot of black and monochromatic colors.. especially in the winter.

Recently I have been challenging myself to pull things out of my closet from other seasons and re-wear them when I can, like this white dress and blush cardigan or this grey dress and grandpa sweater with over the knee boots. There’s no reason for your favorite summer and fall pieces have to sit by the wayside!

I picked up this Anthropologie blouse just after the move to New York – there was something about the floral hues that just made me smile and now it reminds me of such a fun time when I arrived here. I was eye-ing it in my closet recently and decided that even though it’s sleeveless there’s no reason why I couldn’t pull it back out for a day above 40 degrees.

I just brought another cardigan with me to layer under my long coat and just paired it with jeans and my new favorite nude pumps. The scalloped hem and long length of the coat were the perfect pairing. I find color to be challenging in the Winter months because you don’t want to go too bright, but these hues make for a subtle change from blacks and greys that this week was completely welcome. How do you keep color in your winter wardrobe?
