How to: The Pink Coat

Winter styling often leaves us feeling like we've put on 10 kilos; and thats just your coat. I must admit that Australian temperatures do not reach the lows that say the UK and some parts of America experience, although some chilly mornings make me wish I never left my bed.

Australian winter days vary; you might get one beautiful clear day, then the next it will be pouring rain and you need a beanie, scarf and the thickest coat you can find.

But for days like today when the sun is shining but there is still a little chill in the air, I like to go for what I like to call a 'hybrid' coat. Its a mix between a jacket and a coat. Not as thick and heavy as a traditional coat, yet is warm enough to get you from morning to night.

This pink 'hybrid' I'm wearing is from an online store called St Frock. Quite new to the Aussie market, St Frock offers a wide variety of pieces from basics to those little splurge items we all like to treat ourselves with every now and then.

Pairing the colour of the season with laid back basics and a sexy nude pump will ensure that you can take your look from day to night. I added this modern take on a pearl necklace* to the outfit to show how you can be both dressed UP and DOWN at the same time. Multi tasking for the everyday fashionista!

I styled the coat (hybrid) back with these rad ripped jeans from Boohoo that I'm absolutely obsessed with at the moment. They have the perfect amount of stretch yet hold, to keep the junk in your trunk nice and firm; which is a deal breaker for me when I try and find jeans.
