Recycle an Old Calendar into Wall Art

At the end of every year, you probably have a calendar or two that just gets thrown away. This has always seemed like a huge waste to me. And it seemed like an even bigger waste this year because my 2014 calendar included some truly beautiful photos of Beyoncé. So, I decided to find a new use for it. And I came up with a really easy solution.

DIY Framed Calendar Wall Art – what you need:

  • an old calendar
  • 12 frames
  • pen
  • scissors

Step 1: Tear out the calendar photos

The first step here is to take all of the photos that you want to display out of the calendar. In this case, I just ripped out every page obviously. But if you just want to keep a few of the photos that’s fine too. (You would also obviously need fewer frames in that case).

Step 2: Cut each photo to fit the frames

Choose a frame size that will work for your calendar. I used 8×10 frames for a standard sized calendar, but you can go larger or smaller based on the images you want to display. Once you have the frames, place them over the top of your images and use a pen to trace around the edges. Then cut out the part you outlined.

Step 3: Frame and hang each photo

Once each photo is cut out, place them into frames and hang them up wherever you choose OR consider giving them as gifts. As much as I would love to, I just don’t have the wall space for 12 Beyoncé photos, so I’ll be giving them to my friends for Galentine’s Day (If you’re my friend and you’re reading this, just act surprised or whatever).
