Mary Janes!


At one point, when we thought of Mary Jane shoes, we thought of a little girl in her Sunday's best wearing her black patent leather Mary Jane shoes with white socks—the ones with the ruffles. Now, when we think of Mary Janes, we think of the classic 90s movie Clueless, where Cher and Dionne walked the halls of their Beverly Hills high school in their platform Mary Janes or this famous Sex and the City scene where Carrie thought the Manolo Blahnik Campari Mary Jane heels were an urban shoe myth.

Mary Janes have a single strap or multiple straps across the top of the foot. They were a popular style for school girls, think Shirley Temple. The name comes from the shoes worn by Mary Jane, a character from the Buster Brown comic strip, a children's comic that was popular in the early 1900s.
Whether you like a thick strap, ballet flats, pointy toes or open toes, there are many options out there for you to choose from.
