A Few of My Favourite Things #11

Favourite Things

Hello lovelies! I’m back again with a little roundup of a few things I loved last month. I’m amazed that it’s August already. It’s my birthday coming up and suddenly my weekends until September are booked up. I’m determined to enjoy every last drop of this summer.

As usual I’ve tried to keep my favourites somewhat eclectic, so we’ve got a bit of beauty, tasty treats and some new music. Enjoy!

Sunday Riley

We’ll start off with a bit of beauty!

I’ve heard Sunday Riley is a favourite with lots of beauty bloggers (I don’t read enough to find out for certain!) so when I was kindly given a couple of bits to try out, I was eager to see what difference these oils would make to my skin.

After ridding myself of the majority of my spots, the next thing to banish from my face was dryness. I’ve noticed a huge improvement since using Artemis in the morning before putting on my makeup and Luna at night before bed.

I’ll be honest here and tell you that I’m not a pro. I don’t know the exact differences between the two in terms of ingredients, but the Luna night oil is supposed to reduce pores, wrinkles and improve the appearance of damaged skin (I’m hoping it’ll help those acne scars of mine along) and Artemis is clarifying and toning, giving you a glow.

I wake up after wearing Luna with supple-feeling skin, and no tight or dry patches like I might have had before. Then I pop on just the smallest amount of Artemis (a little goes a long way and I can tell these bottles will last me forever!) to wear before putting on my foundation. You only need a tiny drop or two or you will look a little shiny, but if you have time to put it on further in advance, your skin will absorb all the goodness before you pop anything else on top.

They come with a hefty price tag, so be sure to do your reading before making a purchase. My skin already feels better for using them though, and if I had to recommend just one it would most definitely be the Luna!

The Bloggers Planner

You may have seen me Instagram about this beauty a few times already. I came across an online shop selling these wonderful planners designed for bloggers – and despite the fact I do most of my planning digitally, I thought I should probably get my mitts on one.

One of the main draws is the fact you can personalise it (I’m a sucker for anything personalised!) from choosing a quote or your blog name on the front, to whether it’s hardback or not and even the sections inside.

I opted for the classic ‘The Bloggers Planner”, which features a classic diary style layout, but also sections to plan content, track your stats and even write down your hauls and outfits for the month! A must for any blogger!

Brandy Melville

I’m waaaay behind the times here, but better late than never. Whilst in between meetings, the Brandy Melville store on Fouberts Place caught my eye – I’d heard the name before but had never looked into the clothes they actually sold.

As soon as I stepped foot inside I knew it was a dangerous move. I have a thing for cosy basics, as well as a terrible habit of purchasing slight variations on things I already own.

I’m kinda bummed that they do a one-size only thing – which I found especially odd when looking at their jeans (how on earth can you sell jeans in one size?!) and it also meant that another dress wouldn’t fit across my bust, but all their jersey bits were a-okay, which saw me walking away with the black swing dress and cardigan above plus a couple of tops. Oops…

Yorkshire Yummies

It’s no secret that I like to indulge when it comes to food! And if you’ve been reading for a while you’ll know that afternoon tea is a particular favourite of mine. But being able to munch on afternoon tea from the comfort of your own home is even better than having to make a reservation 50 years in advance somewhere in London.

I was recently sent over a little hamper from Yorkshire institution Bettys for Yorkshire Day, which meant I could set up a scrummy spread on my dining table at the weekend. I’ve only made it up to Yorkshire once, but this was a nice reminder that I need to go back – you Northerners know good food!

New Tunes

I’m the kinda gal that finds a tune she loves and plays it over and over and over again. Probably until she’s sick of it, in fact. I’m hoping this doesn’t happen with the new Arcane Roots track,

If Nothing Breaks, Nothing Moves, ’cause it’s just SO GOOD.

I’ve pushed Arcane Roots on you guys many many times, but it’s only because I genuinely think you’re missing out if you don’t give this a listen. This song is from their upcoming EP, Heaven & Earth, and I’m practically counting down the days until it’s October release. Until then, I’ll have the epic IFBNM on repeat, and you should too!

What have you been eating/listening to/wearing lately?
