Red Carpet

A few weeks ago Olivia excitedly messaged me – she’d been contacted about going to the premiere of Testament of Youth, and the first person she thought of as her plus one was me. Why? Well, because I may have a wee obsession with one of the cast members. In fact, she was with me the first time when we “stumbled” across his film set and asked for a picture. If you know me at all, you’ll know I’m talking about Kit Harington. It’s not often that your average stalker fan gets to catch an advanced screening of their favourite’s new film, with said favourite in attendance…

I did toy with wearing a wedding dress so it would be quicker when Kit and I eloped, but settled for slightly modified LBD (the collar was pinned on from another dress!) to shuffle across the carpet with a face equally as red, right past beautiful Jon Snow.

Talking about fancying a celeb and what I was wearing seems a little silly when comparing it to the film’s subject matter. Based on Vera Brittain’s memoir of the First World War, this story had me blinking away tears. I honestly felt extremely moved by the film, and think it was a very fitting tribute to Vera and her wonderful work – anybody else that did WWI poetry in their English Lit. classes will have studied it. Don’t expect high-shutter scenes in the trenches, this story is about Vera’s struggle. It’s out on the 16th of January – do go and see it if you like a good period film.

What I Wore…

Dress – ASOS | Collar – from a Sisley dress | Bag – c/o Aspinal of London | Shoes – Chloe
