What to Expect From Scandal Season 4 Episode 3: Inside the Bubble

It's Thursday so you know what that means: time to check out what Scandal has in store for us tonight. Time to analyse the photos and previews to see what these crazy kids are going to be up to.

Synopsis from abc.com: “An old friend (Sonya Walger) returns for help after her daughter goes missing, Cyrus has an awkward run in during a business breakfast, and Jake uses his connections to get some answers. Meanwhile, Mellie becomes obsessed with a national news story and David goes to great lengths to prove himself.”

What we should expect:

A Cameo from a Lost alum: Sonya Walger: If you were a fan of Lost, you'll immediately recognise Sonya Walger. She played Penny Widmore. Look's like she's going to be Olivia's client this week

Is that you, Penny Widmore?
An appearance from Oliva's Dad, Rowan: This is exciting! I always miss Rowan when he's not in episodes. The ways her reads his daughter for filth every time they meet is always entertaining and enlightening. Hey may be one of the show's "bad guys" but he's always able to illuminate harsh truths to Olivia. He's the Iyanla of the Scandal world. Hopefully he can help her to fix her directionless personal life.

Red her, Rowan!

Love triangles involving Quinn and other things I don't care about: As we can see from the promo, Charlie is back and he and Huck may duke it out for the love of Quinn. Yawn! This is the part of the episode where I'll be getting something to eat. Also, Mellie is obsessed about some national story and Fitz is in his feelings about not being able to get his gun control law passed. Olivia's side-piece, Jake is also in his feelings about being a side piece since Season 2. Moving on....

Huckleberry Quinn together again!
The tile of the episode, Inside the Bubble is interesting. It's a term that Bill Maker uses often to describe politicians on both sides who tend to hold on to ideas that are blatantly untrue but suit their agendas. I keep saying that most of these characters, especially Olivia seem to be going around in circles doing the same things over again, like they're on a hamster wheel. Maybe that metaphor is wrong. Maybe it's better to say that they're inside of a bubble, so focused on their patterns of behaviour that they don't realise things are crumbling around them...

Well, that's enough analysis for today. Let's see how many lip quivers Olivia will give tonight and how many times her coats will elicit a"Yasssss!!" from me.

Tune in to Scandal tonight at 9 PM EST/ 8 PM C tonight on ABC
