Twenty-Five Weeks

My weeks technically turn over on Wednesdays.. so when I woke up this past Wednesday and all of my pregnancy apps were lit up with "25 weeks!" I mentioned it to James and he said "wow, only 15 to go." How crazy is that?! I don't really feel like time is moving any faster or slower than normal, but it is pretty hard to believe that I'm only two weeks away from the third trimester, and only 103 days away from little man's due date. That's not very long, guys.

The second half of the second trimester really has been pretty great. I can't complain. I have only rarely suffered from heartburn, I have decent amounts of energy, I'm sleeping through the night (and comfortably now that I have my pillow situation sorted out), no food cravings or aversions, and while it is definitely more difficult to stand from a squatting position than it used to be, I don't feel too interrupted by the bump yet.

I saw him move from the outside the other day, which totally caught me by surprise. I was sitting in our weekly staff meeting at the office, and from the corner of my eye I saw a big bulge moving around on my left side. I'm feeling him in a lot more places too, which I guess is just because he is getting bigger, but the low bladder kicks and movement at the top of my stomach are definitely new, and strange feeling.

In other news, I should be picking up some more baby things from friends in San Diego in the next few weeks, which will be great because then we can sort out how to rearrange our bedroom furniture to accommodate for the co-sleeper and start to feel a little more settled/prepared. I also mailed in a deposit check for a local daycare in case we end up needing to use it (I had no idea these places booked out a year in advance for infants??), and put down a deposit for placenta encapsulation after the birth. Should be interesting.

My next midwife appointment is in about 2.5 weeks, and that's when I'll have the glucose test done. Fingers crossed for that!

WEEKLY STATS

How far along?
25 weeks
Total weight gain: 17.5 pounds
Maternity clothes? Yes. I still need to get some more. It's so weird to sort through a closet full of clothes and nothing. fits.
Stretch marks? Nothing yet.
Sleep Habits: I'm sleeping well! Trying to enjoy it while it lasts..
Best moment(s) this week: This is tough. I guess today because it's my last day of work before having next week off!
Miss anything? Not so much this week, really. Oh, except clothes that fit.
Movement: Yes! All the time. He is a little mover and a shaker and I love it.
Food cravings: No cravings really. I'm back to meal planning and am finding that I can typically be okay eating whatever I have planned for the day. I don't have to wait until I'm hungry to know what I can eat anymore, which is great.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I start to feel a little sick most evenings, from about an hour after I finish dinner until I fall asleep. I still can't figure out why.
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: Nothing
Symptoms: No real symptoms this week.. unless you count my growing belly. It's one of those things that you know has to happen. obviously.
Belly Button in or out? Still in! for now..
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy and mellow. I do have moments of stress or worry about what is yet to come, but that's sort of a normal occurrence, pregnant or not :)
Looking forward to: My birthday on Monday! And having next week off. I'm going to be sure to take advantage of it.
