Get the Look: Smashbox Double Exposure Palette

A couple weeks ago, I decided to pick up the Smashbox Double Exposure palette on a whim. I don’t own many Smashbox items, but I was at Ulta and this palette looked really pretty, and what really caught my eye was that each eyeshadow could be used wet or dry.

Generally if you use a pressed eyeshadow wet, it creates this really gross film over the shadow that gets hard and has to be scraped off in order to use it again, so I thought it was interesting that this palette had the ability to be used wet. Using eyeshadows wet changes how it looks and applies- it can add more of a shimmery, metallic look, more sparkle, etc depending on the texture. It also makes it really easy to create winged liner with the darker shades and an angle brush :)

This look is the first time I used the palette, and I gotta say I really liked it! The shadows worked so well when applied wet, had great color payoff and blended really nicely. Check the photos and scroll to the bottom for a video tutorial on the look!

Let me know what you think of the Play Date series! I think it’s fun to do every now and then to have a really relaxed video just talking to you guys and having fun :) I think the next one I might ask you all on Facebook to send in questions or topics to talk about during it, so it’ll be like a Q&A and tutorial in one!
