Kat Von D Innerstellar Palette- Swatches, Review

Kat Von D Palettes are known for being pretty awesome- full of color payoff, great texture, and interesting color choices. Innerstellar is no exception! This palette is quite cool toned, and has a nice mix of cool purple and brown shades.

The packaging is just like her other palettes, with the same size and style, with three large shadows at the top, and nine standard sized at the bottom. The larger shadows are nice because they’re good shades for a wash of color or highlighting.

One of the reasons I like this palette is that there are a lot of interesting shades. The blue-toned gray on the left side, pastel lilac in the center, and the super metallic silver (as well as that intensely pigmented black!) towards the right, are some examples. I also love that one of the larger shades is a beige- That is always the most used color for me (works with just about every look as a highlight shade on me!)

As far as finishes go, the majority of the shades have a very shimmery finish, with only a couple mattes thrown in. A lot of Kat Von D Colors are that same finish, so I’m not totally surprised by this. To really bump up the texture and color payoff of these, apply over a white eyeshadow base.

So what do you think? Have you picked this up? I got this with her new Shade & Light Contour Kit (which, side note, I really really love) and am excited to play with it!
