As I was taking product shoots for this box, I realized one thing. I won’t be able to make an unboxing video. Apologies. It’s as if every time I ask for what you want, I just fail to deliver whenever I have your answer. So this is what I’m going to do in the future. I’m just not going to ask you anything so I won’t end up disappointing you guys. Who knows, I might end up surprising you?
Anyway, last January 28, 2015, Glamourbox announced that they will be tying up with Eye of Horus Philippines to launch the Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox, which opened for subscription the following day. And of course, if you know me, you know I HAD to grab my own box.
Anyway, here are the items that are inside my Special Edition Eye of Horus Glamourbox
In one of my previous Glamourbox boxes, I got an Eye of Horus eye pencil in black and I actually liked it. It’s really creamy, long lasting though it smudges a bit on me (tbqh though, I haven’t really found an eye pencil that wont smudge on me all throughout the entire day). I’m actually looking forward to try this in the summer but I also hoped that they included a more practical shade like brown, grey or black. That way, you can use it on a daily basis and at least the Php 990 will be at least worth it for some who don’t really wear this type of shade.
I also got this in one of my previous Glamourbox boxes and I remembered really liking it. It’s not volumizing nor did it offer much in terms of lengthening but I really liked it because it can really separate my lashes and it is definitely black. It’s something that you would want to wear if you’re into that natural, no makeup-makeup look, or if you don’t want your lashes to look all dramatic. It’s smudgeproof and it doesn’t clump but it comes off easily with a makeup remover.
I remembered how much of a pain it was sharpening my EoH pencil because it just had a weird shape. It fits my sharpener, but it wont sharpen properly, not without wasting too much product. That’s also one of the main reasons why I ended up using it up that fast. It’s because none of my sharpeners can really work on that g’dam pencil. Now, at least I can think about repurchasing it because I have a sharpener. But Php 295 for a sharpener? Well, I guess I’m lucky that they included it in this box.
This was one of the most unexpected item in this box. To be perfectly honest, when I ordered this box, I was expecting to get purely makeup. Or was I expecting too much? Lol. Not that I don’t like this necklace don’t get me wrong. I love accessories and my friends can attest to that but I like I said, I guess I just didn’t expect to see a non-makeup product here in this box. A Php 580 non-makeup product.
Another product I did not expect to find in this box. Although I actually see this first along with the necklace upon opening the box. Oh and this mitt is actually worth Php 460. Of course I will use it because I love facial mitts and I’m all for exfoliating my face, but I just find this expensive, lol. Not that it matters because it’s in my box, and it’s practically free, but still.
So those were all of the products that were included in Glamourbox’s Special Edition Eye of Horus Box. Let’s start with the things that I like. I like the eye pencil, though I would’ve preferred a more neutral shade but at least I got a new shade to try. Besides EoH eye pencils are known for their quality so I’m good with that. I also love that they included the mascara because I loved their mascaras and if only I don’t have tons, I might have thought of repurchasing mine when I ran out. I also liked that they included the sharpener, because it can definitely be useful. Like I mentioned, their eye pencils are a pain to sharpen. Individually, I think all of the items are good, in their own right. Like the necklace and the facial bamboo mitt, but to be included in a box that was advertised to enhance the eyes and achieve that ‘sultry eye look’? Uhm…
Now on to the things that I’m not really a fan of. Like I said, each of the items are good in their own right. But the sharpener is already Php 295, the necklace is already Php 580 and the facial bamboo mitt is Php 480 (Php 480 for a facial bamboo mitt!). Though I can’t wait to use all of these, it’s just too expensive, and even though you already get what you paid for with these items, I just wish they replaced either two of these with a different eye makeup instead. Oh, and the eye pencil. I know that I look forward to trying a different shade this summer but I still prefer using a Php 990 eyeliner on a more practical basis.
Please don’t get me wrong. I love this box. I will continue to subscribe to Glamourbox because it’s one of my favorite subscription services and what I got for this box was actually triple of what I paid for. I paid Php 695 and I got more than Php 3,000 worth of items. But still, I just got confused with the selection of items that I got. To be quite honest, I was actually hoping to get more makeup products.
Anyway, here’s the computation…
Let’s compute..
All of these products are full size and I will definitely use all of them. In fairness to this box, all of them are quite useful. None of them will be put to storage or anything. If I wont be able to use one of them, I can give it someone and I know that they’ll be able to use it.
Anyway, how about you? What are your thoughts about this box? If you’re ever interested in subscribing to Glamourbox, feel free to visit their website or follow them at their Facebook page at the following links below:
