a day older

I have 3 children napping. I should be up doing something productive like sweeping my dirty floors, or maybe cleaning the bathrooms, or getting to that laundry in the dryer that beeped 45 minutes ago, or even doing something that I've dearly missed lately...delving into a good book! Instead, here I sit, on my couch, listening to nothing more that a rainy, windy day.
It's bliss, and a perfect time to do Ephraim's 2 month update!

It was two short months ago that I welcomed this pile of sweetness into my eager, open, long awaiting arms. To say he has stolen my heart is an understatement. I really just can't even describe the insane amount of love and attachment that I have towards this little one. Over the past month he has conquered the smile. I think maybe he is seeing a lot clearer now because any time he catches my eye he smiles, or the eye of his sisters...if they aren't on top of him, that is. His giant, gummy grin makes my heart feel like it might literally explode.

This is all from a mom who thought she was destined to have all girls, a mom who scoffed at the thought of having a rambunctious, messy, loud, crazy little boy, a mom who always said, "oh no way could I ever handle a boy." Well ladies and gents, I'm here to tell you, girls are just as rambunctious, messy, loud, and crazy as boys only they are born dramatic. SO there's that. This guy is mellow as all get out.
Go with the flow.

-Sisters want to climb on my face? Sure. Why not.
-You can't feed me right this very second even though it's only been two hours? It's okay. I'll wait.
-I woke up in my crib 10 minutes ago, you can't come get me right this second?
No problem, I'll just let out a little squeak so you know I'm here.
-Poop in my pants? You'd never guess it because I don't mind sitting in it until you notice.

Seriously. The only thing I think I'd change is for him to not hate his car seat so much. He is getting better about it but the drive
home from a park clear across town yesterday reminded me that it is his one minor flaw at this point.
But look at this FACE. How could you even be mad?
