I’m always asked what my one fashion secret is and that’s easy: it’s all about the accessories. You could always wear a plain white tee and denim, and make the look instantly pop with your bag, shoes, or jewelry — even a bold lip.
In fact, I came up with this particular outfit starting with the bag. I loved the slouchy shape of this carry-all tote from John Lewis and the color is this perfect tan that goes with just about everything. It’s been my go-to summer bag that’s casual and still really chic. I’ve been doing some online shopping on John Lewis that features brands and products that I’m not able to find here in the US. I’ve discovered some amazing new brands that I now am obsessed with from there!
To dress up a casual bag, I’ve always loved the simple trick of adding on a vintage-inspired silk scarf. I found this beautiful floral scarf on Vestiaire Collective–yet another site I got hooked on! My favorite activity when I travel to a new city in Europe is to head straight to the vintage and consignment shops from the airport. Now with the help of Vestiaire Collective, I can do it right from my computer without even leaving my apartment! From here, I threw on these flared overalls over a simple white tee and finished the look with a red lip and red pumps. What are some of your fashion secrets?
