8 Week Body Transformation Day 2: Chest and Triceps

Welcome to Day 2!! I hope Day 1 went well and you really pushed your legs to fatigue. Today we are going to be working our Chest and Triceps. So before I begin I need to say that ladies, it is very important that we work our chest. I recently overheard a girl in the gym working out with her boyfriend tell him “I don’t want to work my chest, I don’t want man boobs.” I wanted to educated her on the importance of working the chest muscles and that she would probably need to do more than lift weights to get man boobs, but I kept to myself. I know working your chest muscles may not seem very productive or necessary but it is. They are a large muscle group in our upper body and help us do many day to day things. Besides, the more muscle we are able to gain the more calories and fat we are able to burn, so please don’t skip out on sculpting a nice set of pecks. So today we are going to do 2 warm up sets, but only on the chest press exercise. All the other exercises we are going to be doing 3 sets of 10-12 reps to failure. So again when I say failure that means you may not make it to 12 reps, but that is your goal, you may make it to 10. Whatever you can rep out make sure you don’t stop until you can’t do one more rep physically. Don’t stop because you mentally think you can’t do it, keep pushing and see what you can do. We are not using light weights, we are really challenging ourselves and adding a weight that will exhaust us by 10-12 reps. Keep hydrated throughout your workout, I like to drink my BCAA’s and make sure to drink you protein shake as soon as you are done lifting. Today I am doing 45 minutes of cardio, but you can adjust the time according to your needs. Time to sweat.
