Samantha Pleet S/S ’16

Samantha Pleet was one of the very first fashion designers I “met” online. The online world was small and a bunch of us were just starting out, not really sure what this whole social media and blogging thing was all about.

Over the years, I’ve acquired a few “favorites”. Favorite models I’d like to someday work with, favorite photographers whose work I admire, and favorite fashion designers to keep on my radar. Samantha Pleet’s Spring Summer ’16 collection could not have gotten it better. Shot by Amber Mahoney (who I’ve featured on the blog here and here), it features one of my very favorite models, Sara and a set designed by Samantha’s husband, Patrick.

When I get inspired, I feel it in my entire body. It travels through my back, limbs, stomach, and right down to my toes. I feel it all. I love this collection so much. It’s called A Lovely Haunted House, which epitomizes the magic of surrealism and nostalgia meeting reality. It’s the perfect cross between charming and eerie. I’m also very into the ’70s/’80s silhouettes and patterns.

I actually met Samantha in person just a few weeks ago when she held a pop-up shop with WRAY at Ali Golden in Oakland.

The collection is available online and at Dandelion Post Ali Golden for you Bay Area peeps.
