Confident in Classics

Banana Republic c/o - Melton short wool jacket 00p, turtleneck sweater xxs, scarf Banana Republic sloan pants 00p, Prada tote, Calvin Klein heels
There are always new trends to dabble in each season, but sometimes you just want to reach for timeless pieces in classic color combinations! Banana Republic has been one of my go-to stores for such looks, so I’m excited to partner with them for their Fall “Turn It Up” campaign. Turning it up doesn’t have to mean loud and bold. It can mean letting confidence come through as your best accessory. I've found that something as simple as figure-flattering clothes can make a huge difference in feeling confident, which is why I dedicate so much of this blog towards fit and proportions.

This Melton wool trench (currently on sale!) comes in both regular and petites, and is one of those pieces that just flatter the right places and won't go out of style anytime soon. The collar has good structure for standing up to create a lengthened neckline, and the belt and double back vents create a slightly hourglass silhouette. A higher-waisted, belted short jacket is great for pairing with trousers or jeans to maintain a long and lean leg line.

Layered over this thicker ribbed sweater, the jacket is a close fit on me and the sleeves also hit right above my wrists. I'm wearing an xxs regular in the sweater and it's a casual fit, on the slimmer side without the neck being too tight (my usual struggle with turtlenecks!). Like in my last post, I'm wearing three neutral colors here so used a print or two like these leopard pumps to make the look more cohesive.

These navy sloan pants continue to be probably my most-worn pair! Please note I have machine washed and dried them (against the dry clean only instructions) for a slightly shrunken fit. Reading through the reviews, it seems that the fit might have changed once again, although I hope not as I loved the last updated one. If anyone has tried on a pair recently, please share your thoughts!

Thank you Banana Republic for partnering on this post.
