Acorny Thank You-Stampin’ Up!

I’m feeling a little nuts today so I thought why not stamp a few nuts or acorns…

I’m in a bind again where I need a lot of thank you cards. This set is coming in handy just for that purpose plus fits the season. It’s also a perfect stamp set because it has a coordinating punch that fits the acorns. YES!

New Trick!

So my trick is probably only new to me but I wanted to share just incase you want to try it too. If you look at the picture below and zoom in on the actual acorn you can see there are many layers. I decided to layer many of the acorn tops that I punched out to make it thicker. I loved how this looks on the card because it makes it really stand out. I used the Fine Tip Glue Pen to glue the layers together and it dries FAST. Maybe a bit too fast. I might try Tombow Multipurpose next time because that gives me a little more wiggle room to get them lined up correctly. I love that fine tip however on the glue pen. It’s so perfect. You might remember when I did the same thing using a framelit for this card HERE.

I added a few layers of ribbon and sewed a messy stitch along the edges to keep them in place. Very simple stitching, nothing fancy here.

Overall this card has a framelit and a punch that coordinates. The banner was die cut using the Itty Bitty Framelits. The added wood elements completed this card. Do you love the wooden elements? I don’t know about you but these are the kinds of things I hoard. I have to make a conscious effort to use them. I love them so much and they are darling… which is why I hoard. That’s my challenge for you today. Pull out your hoarding stash and put it to use. It’s only going to collect dust if we don’t use it and I don’t know about you but dusting is not my thang!
