Print Mix

As the weather is cooling off, I’m slowly getting more into the holiday spirit. Doesn’t it feel like summer was just yesterday?! It’s been hard for me to accept the holidays are seriously right around the corner. Mid-November… When did that even happen?! It makes me feel like I buzz around in a complete daze… You know what I mean?

On the styling front, I’ve been adding layers and mixing in more of my cold-weather prints (like fun fairisle sweaters) and some faux fur accents, too! Mixing prints is my jam come November and December. I love finding new ways to wear plaid and stripes with my favorite après-ski sweaters. I’m loving the windowpane prints that we’re seeing all over the place right now… It’s such a fun take on plaid and stripes. From the pants I’m wearing, to this super cute bomber jacket, to this sleeveless top, to this button-down, to this must-have scarf… Windowpane obsessed!

I love the cozy, layered look that comes with the holidays. Scarves, hats, gloves, tailored coats, puffy vests, printed sweaters… Dressing the part is a surefire way to get me in the seasonal spirit. We’ve been really, really lucky this fall in Chicago… The weather has been absolutely amazing thus far. There have been a handful of days that have been freezing, but overall, it’s been insanely gorgeous. Outside of the holidays, I’m not looking forward to winter, but at least I have lots of cozy layers to look forward to!

Also, major news to report over here. Remember how I’ve preached and preached that I don’t wear pants? I’m typically in a dress (or skirt) or jeans. There’s never really been an in-between. I absolutely hate the way most regular pants fit. …UNTIL I TRIED THESE ON. Seriously you guys, I actually really, really like them. I’ve since ordered them in black, too! They’re perfectly stretchy and the fit is pretty fab, especially for being under $30!!
