Little London Guide To: Seven Dials

Continuing on from my little Chelsea guide, comes another part of London I could easily spend all day discovering, Seven Dials. Located a stone's throw away from central Covent Garden and just off of St Martin's lane and Cambridge Circus, Seven Dials are a series of, you guessed, it, seven streets adorned with some of the most beautiful retailers, eateries and hideaways in London (including the dreamy Neal's Yard)...

Dishoom:

Now, let's get one thing straight, there's a reason there's always a queue outside this place. Nope, Leonardo DiCaprio isn't inside giving out free tickets to the Oscars buut they do do absolutely incredible Indian food (which I'm sure is the same thing). With a Bombay-style interior, and a menu that Joe accurately described as something similar to 'delicious Indian tapas', Dishoom displays plenty of options for everyone here (whether you like things spicy, or slightly more mild)! As well as curries, their menu boasts a huge selection of street-food inspired dishes- as well as a pretty celebrated breakfast menu too. Top marks! (Just make sure you get there early)!

Homeslice:

Okay, so if you want bloody great pizza- don't go anywhere other than Homeslice. Ideally it's a great place for groups of friends (solely down to the fact the pizzas are so huge)- but you can order by the slice too if you're just feeling peckish. Either way, these pizzas are incredible. They have a small but creative selection of flavour combinations (as well as your traditional options too) and is just an all round safe bet for a good ol' slice.

13 Neal's Yard, London WC2H 9DP

26 Grains:

For all things oaty, healthy and delicious for breakfast, 26 Grains is your stop. With a delicious menu of some of the most imaginative porridge variations I've ever seen, this little corner of Neal's Yard is the perfect stop for the health-conscious but wholesome lovers with a rumbling tummy.

Timberyard:

If, like me, you're forever hunting out the perfect spot to curl up with your laptop and enjoy some great food (without the pressure of feeling like you need to leave to make room)- then Timberyard is your perfect bet! With locations in both Seven Dials and Old Street, it's the perfect hideout to dig into to a slice of banana loaf whilst tackling that never ending heap of emails...

Tredwell's:

I've reviewed Tredwell's previously on my blog, so won't go into too much detail again- but if you're looking for delicious food breakfast, lunch or dinner (in a relaxed setting with a little bit of luxury)- this is the perfect spot.

Pierre Herme:

Finding delicious authentic macarons in London can be a bit of a task, but pop into Pierre Herme and you'll certainly be in for a treat. Not only do they of course perfect the more traditional flavours, they also boast seasonal, exclusive and highly imaginative flavours; such a passionfruit, Earl Grey and chocolate and rose too. With all of their macarons and chocolates made in France and freshly delivered over to their boutiques, these are incredibly special treats, but well worth a stop by!

Monmouth Coffee:

Now, I am a complete coffee novice. I know about as much about coffee as I do about coding (and if you know me, making a word italic is an ask enough)- but rumour has it, Monmouth Coffee is pretty special. I know I'm not the most reliable when it comes to coffee reviews, but judging by my coffee loving friends, this definitely gets a big old thumbs up.

Orla Kiely:

One of my favourite designers in the world is undoubtedly Orla Kiely, therefore a visit to Seven Dials is never complete with popping in to their boutique. With two floors of womenswear and home ware (as well as a selection of melt-your-heart accessories), I could spend all day admiring the decor, resisting (or not) the dresses and deliberating if I <>i>really need more crockery.

Miller Harris:

If you love candles and unique and beautiful fragrances as much as I do, then you must pop in to Miller Harris. Although small fragrance boutiques can be slightly intimidating (especially if you're not sure what you're looking for), the staff in here are some of the friendliest I've met, and are so knowledgable you'll end up wanting to sample everything adorned on their shelves. I've particularly fallen in love with L`Air de Rien, their fragrance inspired by Jane Birkin. If it's good enough for Jane...

Sabon:

Having never visited Sabon before last weekend, I was completely new to their natural-meets-luxury aesthetic and instantly fell in love with their huge selection of bath, body and skincare products (with wonderfully huge sinks in store to try things out too). With the most incredible range of body scrubs and exfoliants, as well as some of the most deliciously scented shower oils, it's the perfect place to pick up a gift (be it for you, or someone else, ahem).

Tatty Devine:

Now, how could I do a guide to Seven Dials without including Tatty Devine? A.K.A some of the coolest jewellery in London. Whether you're looking for a completely unique, handcrafted piece (I'm sure that buying jewellery in here is somewhat similar to buying art)- or wanting to create you're very own custom name necklace, there's so many beautiful styles that you could get completely lost.
