Transitional White Kitchen
The stainless farm sink lend a sleek, modern edge to the overall classic design. Stunning!
Kitchen Crown Molding
To balance the kitchen’s existing 10-foot ceiling, three-piece crown molding was selected, instead of the more common two-piece crown, so that the wall cabinets would not appear so tall and towering.
Pendants are “Sorenson 18 Lantern” from “Remains Lighting”.
Range
The homeowner likes to cook so the kitchen is designed with dedicated cooking and cleanup areas. Long, deep rollout drawers for pots, pans and utensils are next to the range.
Baking Goods
A second oven and warming drawer was added to meet the homeowner’s baking needs.
Breakfast Room
To balance all the white, gray was used for the walls, carpets and leather chairs in the breakfast room. I love this tailored look.
Notice the tv on the right side of the cabinet.Kitchen Cabinet Ideas
The custom cabinetry feature wide framing–3-inch stiles and rails–and extra thick 1 inch doors (3/4-inch is standard). The bolder proportions are a look that is very much in keeping with the style of the home.
Butler’s Pantry
The kitchen features a jewel-box of a butler’s pantry. The sink was placed in the corner so that all the appliances such as the bar refrigerator and dishwashing drawers fit into the space. A mix of open and glass fronts on the cabinetry keep the room from feeling boxy. The radius curve of wall and base cabinet allows the eye to glide around the room.
Countertop
Dark stained butcher’s block countertop beautifully contrast against white marble subway tile backsplash.
Kitchen Desk
A desk with overhead cabinetry was added to a small corner of the kitchen. Beautiful and practical!
Christmas is almost here… can you believe that? Most people I ask are still not totally ready, and I can include myself on that list, but not for long! Tomorrow I am going to buy all the rest of food I need and I should be basically done. Every Christmas morning we have a special breakfast together. Our table is filled with baking goods, all kind of cheeses, crackers, deli meat (we love salami!) and croissants. We spend a good amount of time eating and talking. The kids love this tradition we created together and we look forward to that every year.
Do you have a special tradition you share with your family? Let’s talk about that!
I hope you guys have a very special and Blessed week. May you feel embraced by love and peace!
We’ll talk again tomorrow!
with Love,
