Review: Jouer Blushing Beauty Palette

Jouer Blushing Beauty Palette-£45
When I saw this gem pop up on the Cult Beauty website I had my finger on the trigger & was ready to make an order. Sadly this sold out on the first day they had it live on their site. That was the moment I knew I had to have it. There’s something about not being able to have something that makes you want it 15 times more. Luckily it came back in stock a few days later & here we are! I’ve had this in my posession for about a week and I thought it was time to share the Jouer love while the warm weather is here (yay)!

I’m no stranger to Jouer. You can read my various Jouer related posts here, here & here. One great thing about the brand is that all of their products come with interlocking components, which allow you to stick your favourite products together and effectively make your own customized palette. All of the products in the Blushing Beauty Palette come apart so you can use them individually or you can snap them back into a cute little palette.

Something I’ve noticed about Jouer makeup is that it’s slightly sheer on the first swatch, but very buildable. Their products have a gorgeous consistency and are pretty much fool-proof as far as adding too much blush/eyeshadow etc. This palette comes with quite a few shimmery products, but since they’re more on the sheer side it’s just the perfect amount.

IN THIS PALETTE

Sheer Matte Powder & Bronzer Duo
Very handy to have a sheer powder & bronzer duo for touching up throughout the day. The Jouer bronzer is my absolute favourite (as you’ve probably heard me say thousands of times). I wouldn’t say the powder gives much coverage, but it’s great for dusting over your face on a hot day.

Cream Tint/Highlighter (Whisper/Feather)
I think this small compartment of cream blush/highlighter is the perfect touch to this palette. The blush is a more subtle/sheer version of NARS Orgasm and paired with the cream highlighter they make the perfect team. I’ve found these are best applied with fingertips as it’s kind of difficult to get a brush in there accurately.

Powder Eyeshadow Duo (Chocolat/Peach)
Usually in palettes like this the eyeshadow colours ruin the whole thing for me. However, these are two colours I could wear for any occasion. There’s a sort of light peachy/beige colour, which is perfect all over the lid and then a gorrgeous *slightly shimmery* bronze colour which is nice in the crease, as eyeliner or all over the bottom lid.

Lip Gloss (Cherish)
Lighter peachy shades aren’t exactly my go-to lip colour, but for summer I think it’s really nice to lighten everything up and add a bit of sparkle. This gloss does exactly that. It’s got little flecks of golden pink running through it in a creamy peachy shade. Very summery!
