Home Office Inspiration

As I mentioned earlier this week, it’s been about a month since we moved into our new house. Slowly, but surely, we are getting settled and figuring out where everything should go (you know how it is). Some spaces are almost all put together, others still have some work to be done.

My office is one of the latter.

Since SD and I are both freelancers, we knew we needed a house with enough space to create two home offices: SD got the third bedroom and I got the finished attic. Though “Paint the (Aegean Blue) attic floor” is still on our to-do list, I’ve been experimenting with furniture arrangements and collecting images of some of my favorite inspiring work spaces. Here are a few I’ve been admiring lately:

Love this old wooden desk and all that beautiful natural light.

That exposed brick wall is to die for. But, I also love the grosgrain ribbon Roman shades and the pops of coral.

I am a neutrals-girl at heart, so naturally, I adore this simple space.

I love how Juley pulled her desk away from the window and positioned the chair to face into the room. I set up my desk like this a few weeks ago to try it out and love it!

Similar to No. 4, I like how this desk floats in the middle of the room with windows behind it.

In addition, to visual inspiration, I’ve also been reading a few pieces on work space organization (particularly for home offices). Here are a few of my favorites:

  2. How to Organize Your Work Space (Infographic)
  3. Establishing Your Home Work Space

What do you look for in a work space? What inspires you?
