Brussels

Brussels

(Locations: Mini Europe, Grote Markt, Manneked Pis, Jeanneke Pis)
Taking a breather from Paris to bring you my first trip of 2015. My first trip was to Brussels with my friends from the same programme as me. I have visited Brussels before (see here) and we also visited during the holiday season with my family, so I have yet to visit the city during summer. This time going with friends was fun. We went to Mini Europe which was right next to the Atomium at the outer part of the city.
Mini Europe has collection of downsized famous landmarks of the countries within the European Union and as my programme is a European programme, all of my group mates are within the EU therefore as we walked around we saw each other's countries and pointed out where we've been and listened to each other's national anthems. The travel bug in me was also yearning to go and see the places I have never been and actually see the mini figures in their real life size.
We headed back to the city after Mini Europe, ate some lunch, walked to Grote Markt to admire the architecture and then headed over to look at the Manneken Pis. The Manneken was dressed this time as a blind boy, the fence also had braille notes and as we couldn't read them we didn't know why he was dressed like so.
After the Manneken we went to see his counterpart, the girl version Jeanneke Pis, which I didn't know existed until my friend told us and took us there. She was locked as we went there later on in the night so we went for a few drinks by the pubs near her.
We headed back to the Grote Markt to admire the light show by the Grand Palace which reminded me of Disneyland. Our final stop was getting waffles although I didn't manage to get a photo with my camera as I was too slow but here's an Instagram photo.
