10 reasons to buy the Eva Mouton Pix app
De Eva Mouton Pix app kwam uit en mijn paniek-level ging uit het dak. Want: de App Store is gelinkt aan vriendlief zijn betaalkaart, een nieuwe kaart met nieuwe code, en de link bleek nog te ontbreken. Dus bestond mijn namiddag uit 1) het staren naar een social media feed vol dino’s en aanverwanten en 2) reikhalzend uit te kijken naar 18h. Maar mijn geduld werd beloond: deze app is awesome. En wel om volgende redenen.
The Eva Mouton Pix app came out and my panic level went off the roof. Because the App Store is linked to The Boyfriend’s card, a new card with new code, which was not yet linked to our account. So my afternoon consisted of 1) staring at a social media feed full of dinosaurs & relatives and 2) looking forward to 6 PM. But my patience was rewarded: this app is awesome. For the following reasons:
1. Het is Belgisch: Ik ben een grote fan van Belgische merken en bedrijven. Ze steunen behoort tot mijn dagelijkse bezigheden. Want eerlijk: moest deze app uit grofweg Frankrijk of Polen komen, dan zou ik hem niet zo snel op mijn iPhone hebben staan.
2. De illustraties zijn geweldig: Sommigen zouden het omschrijven als kinderachtig, maar daar ben ik het absoluut niet mee eens. Net zoals bij puzzels, zijn de illustraties geschikt voor 0-99 jaar. Je mag de afbeeldingen schattig of lief noemen, ik hou het bij ronduit geniaal.
3. Je voelt je weer kind: Kirren als een 5-jarige? Het kan dankzij deze app. Het Lief moet het allemaal ondergaan en snapt mijn opwinding maar half. Ik was vroeger een zware gebruiker van stickerboeken (liefst de herbruikbare exemplaren), en dit is zo’n beetje de digitale versie. #addict.
4. Niet duur: Nog geen 3 euro! De instant vrolijkheid krijg je er gratis en voor niets bij.
5. Uren plezier: Elke nieuwe foto die ik neem, moet minstens één rondje Eva Mouton ondergaan.
6. Wie wil er nu geen dino?: Dino’s zijn cool. En jezelf omringen met groene en oranje snoezige varianten lijkt me niet zo gevaarlijk…
7. Katten: Misschien nog beter dan dino’s. Voor de cat ladies onder ons is deze app een must-have. Want je kan jezelf omringen met tientallen katten zonder je zorgen te hoeven maken over de stofzuiger of de kattenbak.
8. Fantasie: Wil je je hond aankleden met een badpak? Wil je een dino op het hoofd van dochterlief zetten? Alles is mogelijk. Zolang er een sticker voor is, kan je je fantasie de vrije loop laten gaan. Amen to that.
9. Kleurrijk: Eerlijk? Moesten de kleuren niet zo in-your-face – en op sommige momenten zelfs raar (oranje dino’s?) – zijn, dan had deze app heel wat minder hebben-gehalte gehad. Maar de vrolijkheid spat simpelweg van de kleuren af. Wat mij dan ook weer gelukkig maakt.
10. Anders dan anders foto-apps: Petje af voor Eva en de ontwikkelaars van de app, want dit pareltje is een one-of-a-kind. HeyHey pix komt dicht in de buurt, maar de Eva Mouton Pix app voelt persoonlijker aan, dankzij alle voorgaande 9 puntjes (beide apps zijn trouwens ontstaan in hetzelfde Gentse bedrijf). En nu kunnen we alleen maar hopen op héél veel updates met nieuwe prentjes!
1. It’s Belgian: I’m a big fan of Belgian brands and companies. Supporting them is one of my daily activities. If this app was made by a French or Polish Eva, I wouldn’t have bought it this soon.
2. The illustrations are great: Some would describe it as childish, but I absolutely disagree. Just like puzzles (from 0 to 99-year old), everyone can join in! You can call the images cute or sweet, I prefer to call them downright genius.
3. You feel like a child again: cooing like a 5 year old? It’s possible thanks to this app. The Boyfriend has to endure it all and does not quite understand my excitement (although he doés find my creations funny). I used to be a heavy user of sticker books (preferably the reusable ones), and this is pretty much like the digital version of it. #addict.
4. Not expensive: 3 euros! The instant happiness is for free.
5. Hours of fun: Each new picture I take, must undergo at least one round of Eva Mouton Pix.
6. Who can resist an orange dino?: Dinosaurs are cool. Surrounding yourself with cuddly green & orange variants does not seem dangerous to me…
7. Cats: Perhaps even better than dinosaurs. For the cat ladies among us, this app a must-have. Because you can surround yourself with dozens of cats without having to worry about the vacuum cleaner or the litter box.
8. Fantasy: Dog bathing suit? Daughter dinosaur? Anything is possible. As long as there is a sticker for it, you can set your imagination free. Amen to that.
9. Colourful: I must admit; if the colours were not that in-your-face (and sometimes even weird – orange dino?) , then the I-want-this-factor wouldn’t be there. But the happiness is like woah! What makes me happy as well.
10. Different from other photo apps: Hats off to Eva and the developers of the app, as this gem is a one-of-a-kind. HeyHey pix comes close, but the Eva Mouton Pix app feels more personal thanks to all previous nine reasons (both apps were born in the same company in Ghent). And now we can only hope for a lot of updates with new illustrations!
