Nautical Kids' Room by Young Folk

Today I have an adorable nautical themed kids' room tour
courtesy of Young Folk - a children's interior decor and
styling company (their online store is super cute too - click
here to check it out
). The client asked Young Folk to convert
their guest room into a space where their grandchildren (two
boys aged 2 and 4 years old) could stay over. They wanted
a nautical theme to fit with their Hamptons-style home.

The feature wall was painted using Mr. Jason Grant's paint
range
. "The beauty of using paint to change the wall is that
it can always be painted back again if they decide they no
longer want it. Paint is such a cost effective and easy way to
change a room," explains stylist Melissa Lee from Young Folk.

"I was immediately drawn to the Incy 'Mia' bed for its vintage
feel and the 'Lucy' drawers custom painted in Dulux 'Blue
Lobelia' and used these pieces for the base of my design,"
explains Melissa. "The bedside table and pendant lights bring
in a vintage old navy feel to the room and the sweet little
sailor sitting on the house shelf by Willow and Wood is a family
heirloom (over 50 years old), so added a nice touch to the
space. The family also has ties to the Sydney ferries with their
Grandfather working on the ferries as an engineer for many years
so the addition of the Make me Iconic Sydney ferry also sits
well with the room design and the family's history," says Melissa.
