// ST LOUIS FASHION WEEK //

About a month ago I moved to St Louis. It has been a pretty massive change from Zurich. The midwest in America is probably about as different as you can get from a little European city. I have family here though and that has made the transition much easier. Also, just a couple of weeks after I arrived St Louis Fashion Week took place. To be honest, this made me feel more at home than anything else. The production was on a much smaller scale than London but it was still a great event to be part of. It's awesome that St Louis has a fashion week and that there are people here that are trying to invest in young designers and new talent.

Two of my favorite designers from the Emerging Designer Competition were Daniella Kallmeyer and Charles Harbison. Daniella's collection consisted predominately of white and navy. It was clean and crisp, without a lot of adornment. There was a navy suit that melted my heart and a pair of white wide-legged trousers with a fold over belt that I'd definitely wear. Harbison's collection was the complete opposite. He embraced bold colour (the mustard trench was my favorite piece) and smacked on big oversized floral embellishment in abundance. Both designers showed something unique but it was Daniella who took home the $15,000 prize on the night.

Massive thank you to Alive magazine for inviting me out for the event. I'm looking forward to many more!
