New Pigments From Sugarpill

Sugarpill sure knows what they are doing when it comes to pigments. Including these here, I now own 18 of their pigments. I guess you could say I like them.

I was right on their web site (Sugarpill Shop) on launch day when these released, and purchased all of the new pigments except Grand Tiara. I may get it later on, not sure. I tend to not wear silver that often, which is the only reason I didn’t pick it up (which right now seems like a dumb reason not to buy it, considering I have lime green which isn’t exactly being worn on the daily). I knew I wanted their limited edition shade Pastelle, so I threw that in too (then regretted not buying two once it sold out).

All of these have that same finely milled texture that you are used to from Sugarpill, except for Penelope. It’s not that it is gritty or anything, but it does seem to be almost more like flakes (the only thing I can compare it to is Makeup Geek Utopia pigment). This gives it more of a molten metal/sparkly look. It is super gorgeous.

All shades are pigmented, and apply and blend well. The shades are all shimmery, and have more intense shimmer when worn wet (my favorite way to wear them). I kind of wish they had kept the cute Sugarpill logo on top of the lid instead of the simpler logo on the front of the jars, but that is my only (admittedly superficial) complaint.

Sugarpill Chromalust pigments retail for only $13 – $14 per jar.
