Fabric Bottle Wrap

Bottle wraps and jar cozies don’t have to always be made with intricate mason jar crochet patterns. Muslin fabric wrap is as beautiful and can be put together with 15 minutes, with just a few stitches. This fabric wrap technique works on recycled bottles, mason jars and glass jam pots. As well, what a great way to wrap up a wonderful bottle of wine for the party host!

How to Make a Fabric Bottle Wrap

1. Wrap a piece of slightly stretching fabric around the bottle’s neck. Fold once and wrap it around the bottle neck as one would with a shawl in a deep V-line coat. Neatly tuck the fabric selvage to the inside/out of sight.

2. Pin the fabric in a curve manner around the bottle, and hand-stitch the fabric around the bottle.

3. Leaving a fringe of about 1 to 1 1/4 inch, cut off the excess fabric, along the side of the bottle, and around the bottom edge of the bottle.

4. Cut strips of about 1 to 1.5 inch wide fabric. Fold them around and around into a rosette. Pin into place. Tuck under the fabric end, and with a few stitches, hand-stitch each rosette so as to retain its shape.

5. Repeat step 4 with different widths and lengths of fabric, so that each rosette’s size and shape is slightly different.

6. Pin your collection of rosettes in place. When you are happy with your composition, attach the rosettes to the wrap with a few stitches.
