My Big Hair Secret…

As someone with normal/fine hair, it feels like I am forever searching for a product that leaves my hair look thick, full and voluminous. Occasionally, I strike gold – or salt, as in this case…

Christophe Robin Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt
Christophe Robin are a brand that have been taking up space on my wishlist for way too long; there’s something about the innovative products and dreamy packaging that immediately got me. As expected, once I got my hands on a couple of picks, I was hooked!
This hair scrub is a little like Lush Big, but with a few key differences. For one, it’s not nearly as fluid-like – this is quite like a body scrub, very thick with salt. Application is simple – just add in to hair, massage in and rinse out well. It’s something I do when my hair and scalp are in need of a pick-me-up.

Interestingly, the scrub is aimed at sensitive and oily hair types – and it’s recommended for use after colouring, when the scalp may feel a little itchy and irritated. One use of this and the head will be at optimum hydration within 24 hours. It also works to rebalance oily scalps, remove chemical residues left behind, and offer 100% natural hydration that lasts long after the hair has been rinsed. It’s pretty awesome stuff.
I tend to think these products are quite harsh on coloured hair and should be avoided, but this doesn’t mention anything about avoiding dyed locks. As it’s a treatment, it is only used once every week or two weeks, so I think it’s used infrequently enough for any negative effects.

The shampoo is also ultra-purifying; it serves as a detox product for hair that’s been overloaded with styling products, or greasy hair in need of a thorough cleanse. I tend to apply it to roots, massage in well and rinse out, before applying a rich conditioner to the ends of my hair. I also follow this up with a good leave-in conditioner and hair serum on towel-dried hair, to avoid dry ends.

One use and my hair is… incredible! It’s full of life, bursting with body at the roots, with a touch of grit that my fine hair doesn’t usually have. It feels so clean, looks incredibly glossy and there’s no adverse effects to report! Even the price can be justified by the fact that you only need to use it a few times a month.
I’ve found a definite keeper in this product, and the brand state that there’s no parabens, silicones or colourants added. It’s a little hard to find at the moment, but I guess most stores will restock it in due course!

Have you tried anything from the brand?
