New In Cream Shadows.

I really should have either taken a picture of these as soon as I bought them, held off on using them at all, or gone to town on Photoshop… but I did none of these so now we can obsess over how perfect Painterly looks in the middle of all this mess.

Okay, so now for my real intro. I really love cream shadows; they may not last as long as powder, and they can be a little more messy to apply, but the overall result is just dreamy. The smudged in colour looks so effortless, and it’s the easiest way to brighten and define the eyes.
I picked a few new hues lately – which means I’m now going to have to rehome my collection as they now longer fit in to my current storage! – so I thought I’d introduce them.

In the last few months, I somehow managed to lose my beloved MAC Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Groundwork – to be fair, this needed to be replaced anyway, but I did think it would eventually turn up so I held off on replacing it. In the end I had no choice, and a replacement has now joined my stash. I couldn’t be happier, I’ve been using this little beauty for years! It’s a matte, tan brown that just works for me. I wear it smudged in to my lower lashline and it never fails to really make my eyes pop. It doesn’t seem like much, but it makes a world of difference.
Apparently a lot of fairer-skin gals like to contour with Groundwork too, so I think I may give that a shot…

I also added MAC Painterly Paint Pot to my collection too; this seemed like a more played down version of Groundwork. I imagined this would be a lovely base for smoked-up eyes or even worn alone over the lids – it just seems like such an understated colour for everyday wear.
I haven’t touched this yet (as you can see), so I’ll keep you posted on my thoughts.

Next up is a dreamy Bobbi Brown number that I was using as my replacement Groundwork for a while there. It’s actually earned itself a place in my stash as it’s just so darn lovely. This is Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Suede, another matte tan that is a little more neutral than Groundwork and a little darker than Painterly. It’s just beautiful, especially washed over lids with a darker colour blended in. Simple, but a staple.

The last pick is something entirely different; meet Charlotte Tilbury Eyes To Mesmerise Cream Eyeshadow in Jean; a beautiful nude shimmer that is a must have for anyone who loves these sorts of shades on the lids. I can’t get enough of it’s enhancing ways, it seems to instantly brighten my peepers. It goes hand in hand with Suede or Groundwork smudged in to the lower lashes too – what a team!

Have you tried any of these?
