Dupe or Dud: Urban Decay Naked3 vs. Maybelline The Blushed Nudes

The resemblance between Urban Decay's Naked3 Palette, and Maybelline's The Blushed Nudes Palette is uncanny - so I'm putting them head-to-head in a dupe or dud! Both contain 12 shadows that are a mix of soft, shimmery pinks, and cool mauve-y taupes, but one is $54, and the other is about $10. Keep on reading to see how they stack up against each other!

I have to be honest, I don't love Urban Decay's Naked3 Palette $54 worth. It's certainly beautiful, and the shadow quality is consistent with what I've come to expect from Urban Decay, but the shadow selection lacks enough contrast to create as many different looks as I would like. But, at the time of its launch, there weren't many flattering pink-toned palettes available. With Maybelline's The Blushed Nudes Palette, that's all changed.

In total, I found that about half of the shadows from Naked3 could effectively be duped with shadows from The Blushed Nudes Palette. The rest, while similar, weren't quite as close. The shadow quality is another huge point of different between these two palettes. It's hard to top the pigmentation, and smooth texture that Urban Decay offers, and Maybelline's palette is no exception. But, while it may not be an exact dupe, you can certainly create eye looks that appear very similar - check out the side-by-side shot below. I'm wearing shadows from Urban Decay's Naked3 Palette on the eye to the left, and shadows from The Blushed Nudes Palette on the eye to the right - the two look extremely close, no?

Ultimately, I don't think you can get The Blushed Nudes Palette and expect it to perform identically to Urban Decay's Naked3. But, while it's not an exact dupe, it can get pretty darn close it you're willing to work with the shadows a little bit to maximize color payoff!
