Where to shop?

Wink

A total of three Concept stores are officially opened with the name „Wink“, all situated in top shopping districts. Whether in Soho, West Village or on the Upper East Side all of the shops are equally clean-edged, simple and rather striking due to their variety of well-chosen labels. Obtainable at “Wink” are inexpensive pieces from RED Valentino, Finders Keepers, J Brand Jeans and Co. The label PARKER is our new found favorite making a name of themselves with amazing fitted dresses and frisky tops. The store bound us personally because of their modish assortment of jewelry: Gorjana and Jennifer Zeuner are both perceptible due to high quality and more than satisfactory price-service ratio.

Free People

Let’s the hippie-heart skip a beat! Frisky maxi-dresses made of graceful cloth, loose fit, coarsely knit sweaters, baby dolls made of silk next to destroyed jean shorts… one could go one forever gushing. This must be the place where New Yorkers chose their Coachella wardrobe. A double lpus point is the amazing customer service. The girls are all very attentive, label a personal dressing room with your name and are there to help at any minute. You should definitely have a look at the Body-chains, coin jewelry in rosé gold and the headdresses with feather adornments. For a musing of summer festivals the whole year!

East Village is the secondhand stronghold and Tokyo 7 coins it all off. Dismiss the mental image of grubby hand-me-downs because Tokyo 7 has a variety the last decade’s best designers. Between Chanel camisoles and Prada baroque blouses you’ll also find a range of younger designers such as 3.1 Philip Lim, Derek Lam and a ton of Helmut Lang. We grasped a beige leatherjacket from Majé for 200$ as well as robes from Chloé and Armani. Definitely plan a bit of time and bring some extra cash to make the Tokyo 7 visit the shopping experience of your life!

Where to party?

CLUBS – in general

In general partying in New York is definitely something else than we are used to in Germany. It’s completely common to meet up with a group of friends for dinner beforehand as well as meeting up with a group of strangers in a restaurant from all around the world. Invitations are usually disposed by promoters who ask you on the street or directly in the club. Through such occurrences it can always happen that you find yourself dining with three Australians, four Asians and a couple newly found Europeans to start a night on the town together. After dinner (normally around 10 pm) you start to head out for the club with a table reservation awaiting you. If the grouping of people somehow doesn’t match you’ll find it to be the perfect point to split and head into the nightlife on your own. Whoever has the stamina, can hold out until 6 am just as in Germany.

Catch

Catch is a club and a restaurant in one. With an elevator you can head up to the second floor and enjoy seafood dishes or directly up to the fourth to continue partying. Even Mondays the location is more than filled and ideally about 300-400 party crazed people fill the club if Snoop Dogg or Wiz Kalifha is announced as a DJ. One shouldn’t be all too sensible at the later hour when the DJ Panel glowers in a green-grayish fog screen.
