But First, Coffee (Milkshakes): How to Make the Best Homemade Coffee Milkshakes
Okay, so as it turns out, this Sunday is National Coffee Milkshake Day. And since I happen to have some leftover homemade coffee ice cream from a previous recipe post, I am all in for this food holiday. No question.
So, I'm sharing a simple recipe for the best homemade coffee milkshake I've ever had. For real. It's that good. There's one secret ingredient that I'm convinced helps it to stand out from the rest. Curious to know what it is?
Ingredients (makes 1 serving):
- 4 large scoops of homemade coffee ice cream
- 1/3 cup of milk
- 1 milk chocolate or dark chocolate bar
Instructions:
Add coffee ice cream and milk into a blender.
Then, using a vegetable peeler, shave the long side of a chocolate bar into the blender. I used about 1/4 of a cup of chocolate shavings for mine, but you can use as much or as little as you'd like. This will take your coffee milkshake from good to great.
Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute (depending on your blender). That's it!
Pour into a glass. Garnish with whipped cream, biscotti, and chocolate covered coffee beans and you're good to go. Cheers!
