Cotton Candy Balloons… (Paper Trufflez)

I’ve never tried “no-line” watercoloring before, so I decided to give it a whirl. I painted wet on dry this time around, but next time I think I’ll try wet on wet to see how I like that.

I love how soft it makes the images, and maintains that whole idea of translucence… The whole time I was painting, I was thinking the colors were so “sweet” and “yummy” and reminded me of those fluffy wads of cotton candy, LOL!

Cursive greetings in the Wish Big set make awesome balloon strings… :)

Had to add a few sequins just for a bit of sparkle when I was finished.

TIPS TO NOTE:

Stamp with a very pale, neutral colored ink like Antique Linen Distress
Use the image lines as a guide; if you paint over them, this ink is water-reactive, so the lines could “wash away”; that’s not a bad thing, just something to be aware of
Don’t worry about “perfection”; keep it loose
Start light, add more if needed–I like having a palette or non-stick craft sheet handy to dilute colors down as I work
Clean off your brush in between colors
Allow areas that overlap to dry or heat set them with your embossing gun, before applying the next color, so you don’t end up with mud. Unless you want mud. And in that case, disregard that last suggestion.
