Spend vs. Save

I think this particular outfit pretty accurately sums up my MO when it comes to shopping:: spend on statement pieces; save on basics.

Sweater, jeans = Forever 21. Pearls, oxford, heels = bargain bins. Kate Spade tote = ok, that was the splurge.

It’s these unique pieces—KSNY pretties and Lilly dresses, among others—that I won’t find anywhere else, and that I save up to splurge on. The basics? Unless I’m going to wear them to death, I take the opportunity to save.
